The Entry Process

What do I need to include in my submission package?

Here is a list of items you need to submit to the Best of LaCantina competition:

  • Project name
  • Project type
  • Project address
  • Completion date (if applicable)
  • Entry description
  • List of LaCantina products used
  • A minimum of 3 project images 

How can I know you received my entry?

Once you've submitted, you'll receive an email confirming receipt of your entry. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 24 hours, please contact support@architizer.com.

Can I edit my entry once I've submitted it?

Yes, you can edit your entry by going to My Account -> My Applications and selecting "Edit."

Can I withdraw my entry?

Yes, you can withdraw your entry by going to My Account -> My Applications and selecting "Remove."

Is there a fee to enter?

No, it is free to submit a project to the competition.

Can I submit more than one project?

Yes, you are free to submit as many projects as you'd like. Please submit a new, separate entry for each project.

Can I enter more than one category?

Yes, you are free to enter multiple categories with the same project.

Do I have to be based in the United States?

Yes, you must be based in the United States, but projects from all countries are welcome.

Submissions

What types of projects are eligible for submission?

All residential and commercial projects that utilize LaCantina Doors products are eligible.

Who can submit a project for the Best of LaCantina awards?

The competition is open to architects, designers, custom home builders, design build firms, and interior designers. Dealers or homeowners are unable to submit, unless they are the designer or architect for the project.

Does my project have to be from a certain time period?

Projects completed in 2018 or later are eligible for entry. Projects submitted for the "Best Planned Concept" award can be at the concept stage or under construction, and must have LaCantina Doors products planned for inclusion.

What types of files can I submit?

We accept JPEG, GIF and PNG files and recommend submitting high-resolution images.

Who is the Best of LaCantina 2024 jury?

How many winners are there?

In addition to an overall Best in Show Winner, we will award winners for individual project categories: rural residential, urban residential, suburban residential, commercial, planned concept, compact, renovation, and most innovative.

What will the winner receive?

The Best in Show Winner will receive a grand prize of a trip for (2) to the 2025 AIA Conference on Architecture (AIA25) in Boston, June 4-7, 2025, including US travel, accomodation and event passes. The winner will also be promoted by LaCantina Doors and Architizer in:​​​​

  • A feature article and promotion on Architizer.com
  • Publicity across Architizer’s social media network of 4.75M+ followers.
  • Inclusion in Architizer's weekly newsletter (127k+ subscribers).
  • A featured project write up on LaCantinaDoors.com
  • Inclusion in LaCantina Doors marketing efforts, including emails, social media, digital display ads, brochures, and print ads.

The individual category winners will also be featured on LaCantinaDoors.com and Architizer.com.
